Learning for me is a life long process. Genuine learning is not only acquired from universities. The world is the real classroom of learning.
Universities, schools and the likes are teaching us this boring and misguided "their own perception" of education. They are trying to limit our capacity to explore our potentials to best that we can. They are feeding us only half of the real score about education. Indeed, they are annually producing thousands of “miseducated individuals.”
There is more out there than those usual blackboards, books and four-corner classroom. Life is more exciting if we learn things beyond the usual. For me, that is real education.Beyond the usual means living in more meaningful human life...

Being with the kids in one of my volunteer work at the evacuation center is one of the best out-of-school learning experiences I ever had. Playing with them makes me reminisced my happy and exciting childhood days. Aside from that, working with them gives me a space of tranquility in my soul. I was given the opportunity to share with them what I know and learn from them what real life is all about... Kids are honest, real and special. They remind me of my humanness.
Indeed, being with them remind me of how lucky I am. Unlike them, I was given the opportunity to have formal education. Being an “internet-literate”, I feel that I own the world. Coupled with this playing and learning is the responsibility to share to let others learn also… that makes life with essence.

Information technology or the access to the internet had made my learning funnier, easier and wider in perspective. Unlike before, I can now have a sustained sharing and learning from other individuals coming from all corners of the world. The information varies from just mere “love experiences” to “highly intellectual ideas.” Some are new and exciting. Others are old but important.
Learning is more independent. I get my share of information on my own choice at any time and at any place…That is the power of technology.

The advent of technological breakthrough and advancement in telecommunication, transportation especially aviation, media and information technology particularly the internet have made the flow of information at a speed that never existed before in human history. Many third world countries like the Philippines are now enjoying the benefits and opportunities that only first world countries could access before.
However, much is still needed to be done for a wider access to this information especially in the developing and less developed countries.

The internet has become a venue for young people from the different parts to connect and voice out as one what they felt. Oftentimes before, their voices were just disregarded and now it is given importance already in policy making.
It is not yet the right time to celebrate. Many changes in the status quo are needed to be changed. Almost three-fourths of the world’s population does not speak English but most in the internet are in English. This means that still almost three fourths of the of the world’s population could avail to the benefits and opportunities offered by the net.

Many of the world’s children are living in dire condition. In armed conflict areas like this picture, they are living in disgusting salmon-can-space evacuation centers. In most urban cities, they are called “squatters in their own lands.” Because of poverty, most of them are already working just to meet the day’s basic needs instead of being in schools playing while learning.
Despite that, most of these angels still find time and space to smile and act like common ordinary children do.
